sunshine!

It took me a good few days to get over the jet lag. That and the madness of the weeks before leaving Copenhagen. Wednesday we woke up and it was overcast and raining. I went to get my hair done and then afterwards we went to have lunch at a waterfront cafe. We were supposed to be anticipating the arrival of Dad, Misoo and Angie that afternoon but they had problems with their ferry booking and we wouldn't be seeing them until around 2pm Christmas day. So it was another quiet night and to bed to wait for Santa.

I was surprised at how quiet the kids were on Christ
mas morning and didn't get woken up too early. We popped open the bubbles, dropped in the strawberries and opened up the Christmas presents under the tree. Simon and Kay's friends turned up a bit later and we had bbq and other yummy foods for Christmas lunch. Dad, Misoo and Angie turned up and there were more presents. Then it was eating and drinking all day, nice.

Friday the sun came out again and we headed to Tahunanui Beach and had picnic lunch and play on the beach. Came back in the afternoon for bbq and games with the kids.

Saturday we headed out to the markets and was great looking at all the local goods and produce. Had a beef cooked in founders beer with roast parsnip pie.. yum! Went a bit crazy in the surf shop then walked home. In the afternoon we went for a short drive and then bush walk to see an old dam. Then home to eat yummy beef wellington my dad cooked. As it was Saturday night I wanted to see how Nelson parties but my company was tired and after a couple of beers it was home early to sleep.

Today we went out to Cable Bay and spent a lovely day at the beach. I am now looking quite red and feeling like my own heating source. After the beach we went to
Happy Valley and after a beautiful, if not a little scary, drive up the hill we went on the longest flying fox in the world.

I now have one more day in sunny Nelson. I'm looking forward to going to Auckland, just hope the weather is as good as here.

stress!!

Well it's been over 2 weeks since I wrote in this blog.
Have been sooo busy! Lets see if I can remember back to when I last wrote..

I suppose Monday and Tuesday were quiet as usual with school and work. Wednesday Alex had invited me to the Culture Box Xmas party at Rust. It didn't start till 12am so I went and met him in Norrebro then. They had been on their julefrokost and some were more than a little tipsy. Alex played a set and was a nice evening dancing and chatting before heading home around 4am feeling a little tipsy myself.

Thursday felt just a little crappy. After work I met Janus and we went to the Christiania Xmas market. Had some yummy glogg and
a little look around the interesting, random stalls and then ventured out in the cold again to find somewhere to eat. Friday had some glogg and a few beers at school Friday bar before meeting the team from work for thai dinner and then actually went home and had an early night!

Last school Friday bar with Borgar and Sune

With Ashraf for xmas dinner

Saturday it was time for Pirita's party and was great to catch up with Ashraf and Sarah and others for fun night at Hans & Pirita's.

Girls having fun!

Sunday was feeling even more crappy but had nice relaxing night before what was to be the utter chaos of the next week..

So the week started with school, then work, then back home to work on exam project. This was Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday night was exceptionally long night trying to finish up report and organise with the guys in the group.

Wednesday morning I got to school and still had a lot to do. We were supposed to be finished a long time before the hand in time of 12pm but of course we were working right up to the
last minute. We finally got it all handed in in time though and then it was time to relax with a few glasses of glogg and some beers. It was a very quite school bar though as many people had stayed up many nights on their projects. So it was not a long time before I headed home. I did not know how exhausted I was until I crawled into bed and proceeded to fall straight asleep. I awoke a few hours later and relaxed a bit waiting for Janus to finish work at 11pm. Then I went to meet him and a work colleague for some games of pool and beers. We got kicked out of the first bar as they were closing so then headed to the Temple bar. Was soon kicked out of this one to and ended up at an interesting bar in Norrebro. This bar was quite rough and busy and was fun night having fisherman shots so much that it was around 5am by the time we got home.

Thursday I didn't hav
e much time after getting out of bed to get ready and head to my last 3 hours of work for 6 weeks! After work I biked to the Southern Cross pub to meet with Kat and participate in the pub quiz. As we were only 2 people we were soon joined by a 19 year old American Iraq war veteran and an Aussie. We were not very good at the quiz but it was still a lot of fun and we managed to win one shot round. We stayed after the quiz a bit to hang out and was home at a nice respectable hour ;-)

Friday was an organising day with cleaning and washing being done before heading out again to the Christiania market to go xmas shopping. I managed to find a few gifts there and then jumped back on bike to go to Friday bar at work. Was a nice time there talking to Julie and Anna before jumping on my bike to go back again to Christiania. This time it was Wonderland to catch up with Nat at the Friday skate session. after nice time there I rode to where Janus was having his xmas party and although I thought I was feeling quite drunk at this stage it was no where near what the guys still at the xmas party though including Janus. I didn't really stay there very long before needing sleep!

Saturday I really needed to finish xmas shopping and start packing! Lucky there are malls open late at xmas and I took a trip out to Fisketorvet mall. I don't know how I did it but I managed to get all the gifts I needed before the mall closed. Then I headed home to wrap presents and pack. Janus came over and it was around 12am I finished packing. Then we headed over to Phong's for a few drinks (prob not the best idea..).

So I got a bout 2 hours sleep before I had to be up to get ready and finish packing.
We headed out to the airport and had time for a quick coffee before saying goodbye, sniff sniff =( Then started the 36 hour mission of getting to Nelson. Was a lot of delays on the flight to London and a lot of people on the plane were afraid they would miss their connecting flights. I had plenty of time though and was glad not to have to wait so long at Heathrow. Then it was onto the long flight of LA. I ended up getting the exact seat I had on the way to Copenhagen which was just a little weird. I didn't get much sleep on this flight and was not amused by having to queue for a long time in LA to go through customs just to sit in a transit lounge before getting back on the plane. Having my finger prints scanned and a photo taken was also way over the top. I managed to get a lot more sleep on the way to Auckland. Although it was not comfortable. I was very glad to discover we didn't have to stop over in Sydney! Arriving in Auckland this morning was beautiful. We flew over the North Shore and Waitakere Ranges before turning around into Manakau. I then had a very pleasant stroll in the sun to the domestic terminal. It was a long wait for James though who had forgotten I said to meet there and was waiting for me at the international airport. We managed to get on the plane though and it was a lovely short flight to Nelson. We were met at the airport by Simon & Co. but not by my bags. Apparently the plane was overloaded and these arrived later. So today has been a quiet day catching up, sitting in the sun and eating and drinking, yum =) I have to watch out for the sun as I was only out for about 15 mins and already have red shoulders.

Well I think I will try to get some photos in here and then hit the sack. Laters.

silly season..

Today I am recovering from a massive week.

It started off quiet with Monday and Tuesday just the usual school, work, school, work. Wednesday I got to work and wasn't feeling that great. Was probably just a little virus again because not so bad I had to go home. And anyways I was looking forward to meeting with Janus and go to the Biohazard concert!! Was not a pleasant bike to town as it was snowing slushy wet snow and we were pretty wet when we went to Janus friend's apartment. We had some pizza and beers before heading to Pumpehuset to the concert. I didn't really know what to expect as hadn't heard any of their songs before but they said they would only play songs from their first three albums and it was a fun rock show.

So Thursday was a little hangover at school and then work but I was very tempted by the talk of sangria at Javier's party. It was yucky rainy night but I was lucky to be picked up by Paulo and got a lift to Javier's place. He was celebrating being in Copenhagen two years (any excuse hehe). The Latin guys & gals at Saxo sure know how to party! The sangria and tapas were yum and party started getting really fun when Lena and Marikka turned up.

Latinos sure know how to party!

So Friday I was more hung over. Lucky we were working on a fun creative project at school so was not too tough. We finished up shooting the frames just in time for Friday bar at 2pm. They are really doing a nice job on the chill out room and had put big couches in this week. It was really nice having some beers with my school chums but even eventually left and I biked the short way to Janus' place. Then we headed over to his friend Martin's place and had a fun night playing rock band till late.

Mr & Mrs Dude

Chill Out room

So Saturday was even more hung over.. But no time for that when you have a julefrokost to go to! I jumped on a bus (no biking this time, too far) and headed to Den Lille Cafe (The Little Cafe) to meet with Mark and some others for a traditional Danish Christmas lunch. After the first beer the three days of hangovers were soon forgotten and it was nice to catch up with some ex Saxo people. The food started coming out and the first course of herrings was not too appealing. The next fish course wasn't either but I was glad I had saved room for the main course, yum! Then it was just enough room for some ris ala mande (rice pudding) before getting into the seri
ous partying. Sina turned up and later on some other Saxo guys but by almost midnight most had had enough. Those of that hadn't jumped into a taxi and headed to The Rock. I had been looking forward to checking out this bar ever since I got to Copenhagen but maybe after such a long day it was not the best time for first experience. Was cool to meet with Janus and some of his friends there but after a couple of hours I was totally done. We had a fun time walking and trying to catch a taxi as I didn't have my bike. There are so many people out partying at this time of the year it can be very hard to get a cab. But we eventually got one and went home totally exhausted.

Mmmmm schnaaps!

Beer! Mark with Antony and Charles

More boys =) Morten and Maart..

Rockin out with Morten

So today I have not done much at all. Drinking lots of water, cooked a good meal and a lot of chilling. Which means I have to seriously get into work mode for tomorrow. Laters.

good times, bad news..

It snowed!

Where do I start..? Monday I guess if I can remember, I had to ride my old bike to school as I had left my other one at work in the weekend. So I walked to work in the snow, then it was fun catching up on the stories from Iceland and then home for what would turn out to be only quiet night of the week.

Then it snowed some more on the way to work.

Tuesday same deal but then went out for dinner with Janus. Ended up at an African place with very nice food but wine which Janus thought tasted like carpet..?

Wednesday I decided to do late shift and was at work at 10am. When I finished at 6pm I biked to Kongens Nytorv to meet with Michael from our London office. We went to Rubys for a nice but expensive cocktail then headed to Moose bar where drinks are much cheaper. Was cool to hang out.

Thursday I was looking forward to a quiet night and headed downstairs at work for the presentation of the new cycling team and what I thought would be a couple of quiet drinks. I didn't expect there to be so many of these cycling guys and the Thursday bar was soon quite fun with all the girls excited to have so many young sports guys there. Too many wines later and I had be
en convinced to go to Lena's before heading out. I was just too tired though slept on Lena's couch while the others partied.

Saxo Bank cycling team.

Friday I was still tired and decided to work from home. There was no friday bar at school so I didn't miss anything. After some dinner I biked to Wonderland in Christiania for friday skate and beers session and catch up with Nat for the first time in ages! It was really nice inside as they had a big gas heater and was cool to catch up with everyone and have a few bevvies. After the massive Thursday bar from the night before though Nat could not convince me to go out. I biked over to Janus' as he had some friends over. We got some really bad news about a great friend of ours and the guys were supporting each other with a lot of alcohol involved.

Saturday was rugby day and I had to help Janus get up as he was very hung over. We managed to get to the Southern Cross pub at the start of the game and were soon joined by Mark, Chris, Pirita, Hans and Nat. was good to catch up and watch NZ easily beat England. This time of the year in Copenhagen there are many hung over people or soon to be with so many xmas parties happening. Everyone either went home to recover or went to another party
and Janus and I went to the Irish Rover to get some dinner. Had very yummy roast lamb and met some friendly kiwis who we talked into coming to Asaf's birthday party at the Culture Box with us. Had fun talking to my new kiwi friend Jo over a few beers and then we said goodbye and headed to Phong's. Was pretty quiet there and Janus was beat so we didn't stay long.

Kiwis!

Needless to say it was a very quiet day today. Now I'm looking forward to an early night and getting to school tomorrow to really start working on our project.

on top of the world!

This week has been great, I feel extremely happy =)

It started of pretty quiet. We got given our exam project at school on Tuesday and from now until mid December will be working on that. Tuesday was pretty stressful as people were making groups around me & I soon found myself groupless. Lucky me & Lucas found a group of 3 that were happy for us to join and I am really happy with my new group. Now I just got to find the motivation to work hard on this project.

I did not much else from go to school and work and read lots until Thursday when I went straight after work to meet Janus and get something to eat. Then we went to something called the Songwriters Slam. One of the guys who was in my camp at Roskilde organises these nights and there were a bunch of musicians whom performed their songs. There were judges that rated the songs then the top 4 went to the next round & the top 2 of that round to the finals. It was interesting and fun concept. We stopped by at Bankeråt on the way home. It is a very cool cafe/bar with some interesting decorative elements..

Friday I went to school and talked a bit with my group then they all left. So I hung around school annoying everyone else and waiting for Friday bar. It started snowing the first snow of the season and was very nice standing outside in the snow. They were working on the bar so we had to get some beers from the service station across the road and drink in the canteen until they could finally open the bar. They had stripped down the floor and painted it black, this made it very slippery! It was fun sliding around and having a few beers before going home for an early night.

Saturday morning I woke up very early and biked to work to meet everyone for our xmas party before 8am. They had lots of buses waiting so we jumped on one and were then driven to the airport. It looked like all our hopes were coming true and we then checked on to 2 flights to Iceland!!

Waiting to check in with Michael, Hulya and Soo.

Our flight was delayed due to ice on the plane and we didn't take off till around 11:15am. It took around 3 hours to fly to Iceland and we watched a very stupid movie on the way. We landed at a very small airport in Keflavik a very barren place on a peninsular a little further along from the capitol Reykjavik. We piled onto buses again and had a guide explain to us about the area as we drove. We first went to a place that used to be used by NATO up until a few years ago when all the Americans moved out. We stopped at a hall and were to try some Icelandic delicacies here. EWWWWWWWW!! It smelt very fishy when we went in but the little white cube didn't look to bad. I should have known not to try it by the revolting smell but put it in my mouth anyway. It was revolting! I had to spit it out because the texture was so bad I felt if I had swallowed it I would have thrown up! I quickly gulped down the shot of schnapps and then when we were back on the bus the lady explained to us that it had been rotten shark meat that had been dead for more than 6 months!

Don't eat it!!!

Our next stop was where 2 continental plates met. The landscape around here was amazing, all volcanic lava rocks and sand. The next stop was at the coast and it was very beautiful here. It reminded me of the wild west coast in Taranaki.

Then it was to our final destination, the Blue Lagoon!!

We were given a bag with a towel and robe and had some snacks before getting into our swimsuits. We had to shower before going in the water and then it was a cold fast dash to the water. The water when I first got in was not so warm and the fact that it was raining icy little raindrops made it seem even cooler. I swan around with Coreen and we found a warmer spot but it wasn't until we found all the others that we found the really hot spot. It was very nice there and very relaxing for skin and body. They had some silica mud around and everyone had this caked on their faces. We must of stayed in the water for over and hour and then it was time to get out and get ready for dinner. It was absolute chaos in the girls changing rooms and I amused myself at thinking how different it must be in the mens with them just throwing their clothes back on and hitting the bar. The buffet food was okay and had a few glasses of wine before hitting the bar for bourbons and the dancefloor for lots of bootie shaking action.

With the Top Gun guys..

Saxo people sure know how to party!

Haha, YMCA..

It had actually been warmer than Copenhagen there during the day but we soon found out it was freezing there at night out in the smokers area and people were still swimming in the murky blue water. It was a very fun night and all too soon we were told we had to get back on the buses to get to the airport.

I don't actually remember getting on the plane at all but I remember the fun antics on the way back. I managed to find a seat in business class but was not there for long. Paulo was up in first class area and we tried to convince the guy sitting next to him to go to my seat so we could sit together but he was big and fat and lazy and mean and didn't move. So we went round the plane trying to find others that were awake. We found some guys with a bottle of whisky but the cabin crew confiscated it. Then we found Bjorn had some baileys and we found Juan up and partying to. We hung out in the cabin crews area for quite awhile talking to them and had one guy tell us to be quiet cause people were trying to sleep. Someone had taken my seat so I found one right at the back of the plane and slept for a little before we got back. By the time the buses had taken us back to work and Paulo had dropped me home (didn't think it was a good idea to bike) it was 7am. So I went to sleep completely exhausted and did not feel so great when I woke up this afternoon. But I have had a very nice relaxing day and got all my laundry done and will soon have an early night.

u can't see it but i am smiling, a lot =)

I feel very relaxed today which is so nice after the chaos of the last 2 weeks. Last week was all school work. It was not made any easier by the lack of sleep the week before and I was pretty exhausted so Wednesday I had to stay home and relax. Then I went round to Phi's to record the podcast. Thursday it was back to school, then work for 3 hours, then back to school until they kicked us out at 11:30pm.

Then we had to go back at 8am Friday to finish things. I put the last images into the podcast, lucky I had a great program to do it with as it was something I had never done before. Then at 10am it was back to our class room to hear the presentations. This was again a painful experience. We are supposed to be a multimedia design school and not one of the presentations went without technical difficulties, it was not nice to sit through so many groups trying to work it out.

I had sat through enough presentations before it was our turn to warn the guys not to talk too much in our presentation and just show what we made and it worked well. We were the first group that got to play our whole podcast and got a round of applause from the class afterwards. You can listen to the podcast here. Phi did a great job on the sound engineering and lowered my voice a couple of octaves to make me sound sexier ;-)

After the presentations it was time to hit Friday bar! Not so many people stayed as it was a few late nights for everyone last week but the trusty regulars were there and it was a lot of fun before I headed back to Janus' and he cooked to try and sober me up =) It worked so we went to meet Phi, Phong and others at their friends birthday drinks.

Sat was a very lazy day spent eating junk food and watching movies. Then Sunday I was good girl and got my laundry done and did some study before going to Janus' to be cooked for again (I could get used to this!) and watch American Football. There was no school today so got to sleep in before going to work.

Well no pics this week, boring! But I'm sure I will more than make up for it next week after I have been to our work christmas party and will hopefully have photos from Iceland!! =)
Laters.

choice as!

Kora!

phew...

It feels so good to be relaxing at home tonight..
Last week saw me go to school 4 times, work 4 times, 3 concerts, 2 parties, 1 dinner with the girls and 1 hot date. And get to all of this by bike!

Monday was my only rest and then Tuesday night it was off to see Kora play at Loppen in Christiania. I didn't really know what to expect but was looking forward to some music at home. They were really great! The only thing I didn't like is that they didn't play for longer. They played everything from reggae to rock to mad drum & bass, the latter being my favourite, couldn't stop dancing. Kat came all the way from seeing the night before in Berlin and just made it back in time to catch the
m again. We tried to find somewhere to have a beer and catch up after the concert but it being a Tuesday night there was nothing open around Christianshavn.

Wednesday was a busy 9 hour day at work and then I was convinced by Alex that I definitely should go to see Roots Manuva play at Loppen. I couldn't really say no as he had come to Kora with me so it was off on my bike to Christiania again. This
was not really my taste in music but was fun to have a dance and laugh at how wasted the guy was. I guess the Danish beer and Christiania weed was too tempting. It was also great to have a beer with Alex and Nick before heading home.

Thursday I was feeling very tired after school and then work but Janus was cooking for me so I was very lucky. It was a nice meal and nice company =)

Friday we stayed late at school as we had to present the design work for our assignment Monday. I had to leave at 5:30 though and rush home to get ready to go to our work's Operations dinner. I thought it was going to be a quiet dinner but was very nicely surprised to have bubbly waiting for us at Park and lots of people! Dinner was really nice and it was great to catch up wit
h so many work friends. But I had promised the guys I would be back for J Day party at school and was bike on my bike to school. I tried one of the Tuborg xmas beers but it tasted pretty gross so stuck to the normal ones and had a very fun drunken night with the boys.

Rachel & I at the Operations Dinner

Dancing on the bar, again.. at the school J Day party

Needless to say I slept for a lot of Saturday. Then I was off to Pirita's place for yummy Indian dinner and some wines with her and Sarah. It was really great to catch up with the girls and the next thing time had flown by and it was 2:30am.

Sunday morning I woke up and realised it was early enough to call home, yah! had a lovely chat to James and Mum then it was time to try to sort out how I was going to do all the laundry.. The machines in the apartments I was not able to use for some reason so I walked with 3 loads of washing through the streets in the rain trying to find a laundromat. Once I found one it was looking like a big mission to work out what to do so I asked a guy and he very nicely showed me what to do. Wow it was expensive to, so he lent me some coins and I had to go for a walk to a shop to get some more. A couple of hours and around 90 kroner later I walked
back home with all the clean washing hoping I never have to do that again. Then it was time to get ready to meet Kat and go to Fat Freddys Drop! I cycled all the way to Valby and it was a nice change than going through the city. The buildings were beautiful but I couldn't look too much as it was dark and slippery so had to concentrate. We had a beer at her friends before biking to Vega for the concert. We got right up the front and it was a great show. I was also impressed with the audience, there were a lot of people and everyone dancing. There are definitely some beautiful looking people in Copenhagen. It was tempting to go for a drink after the concert but as I had to be at school at 8am this morning I sensibly biked home.

Fat Freddy's Drop at Vega

This morning I slept through my alarm though and didn't wake up till 8:20. I quickly got ready and went to school to help finish our design to present to the teachers. We hurriedly printed what we had done and went down to the ferry room to present. It was a great surprise when the teachers loved what we had done. Considering how little we had worked it was not expected but with a great poster by Sune and some great group effort for the logo & business cards design it turned out pretty well. Once again though it was hard to hear some of the other presentations and now it is time to work hard to get our podcast and website made for Friday.

So actually I should go do some work now before tucking up into my bed, damn I am sooo looking forward to that =)
Laters.

back to the real world.. kinda

What goes up must come down. Monday was a complete bummer going back to school and then work after the funness of the week before. School was okay but damn confusing and then when I got to work I could hardly remember what I was supposed to do.

So we got to learn some Actionscript 3.0 last week. It's just a pity that our teacher made it so confusing I felt like I was worse off after class than before I went. It's lucky I have a book to read though so I could go home and learn what he was talking about.
I got used to work again and the weekdays past with not much else than that.

Friday was nice for a change to learn some arty stuff on the computer and we had tutorials in using Illustrator. Then it was time for Halloween Friday bar =) Not many of my group turned up on Friday which was kinda strange, usually the one day of the week they do turn up.. But had a fun time and then came home, tucked up in bed and watched a beautiful movie, Across the Universe. The story, the filming and effects, it is wonderful. But also very long! I gave up and had to watch the rest when I woke up Saturday morning.

Saturday I got a lot done thanks to the earlyish night but then was looking forward to heading out again. I actually had no plans at the beginning of the week again but had managed to be invited to all sorts of stuff including 2 student parties. But I opted for going to see Wayne and catch up after him being in Jamaica for a few weeks. We had fun time a
t his place listening to cheesy 80's songs and then went to say hello to Alex at the Culture Box. We had a bit of a dance, wow the music there is loud! Was a nice evening and then I met with another friend for drinks.

It was light by the time I went to sleep so Sunday was mostly sleep and then nice time spent with friend. Got home late Sunday evening very satisfied from a great weekend =)

So not much to say about last week. This week should be much more interesting with 3 kiwi bands to go see. Kora on Tuesday, Ladyhawke Wednesday and Fat Freddies Dr
op Sunday, wohoo! No photos this week so I'll just put up a random one I found..
Yessir, I love Beer..!

ich liebe Berlin!!

After I had written the last blog on Tuesday in Berlin I went to try to wake up Phi & Phong unsuccessfully. I did manage to wake up Borgar though and we went down to the East Side Gallery where they have preserved part of the Berlin wall and the street art on it. It was nice to look at but I really liked the newer street art at the end of the wall where there was this very interesting place called Yaam. It had a skateboard ramp, basketball court, soccer court and a lot of sand with a nice looking beach bar. It looked like a fun place to hang out, I'm sad I didn't get to go there at night but I'll just add it to the list of many things I need to go back to Berlin for.

Then we had to get back to head to the Hansa Recording Studios where we were having a tour for our project. It was a beautiful building being one of the only left standing in the area after the second world war and was interesting to hear the history of the area, Potsdamer Platz. We looked at the rooms where David Bowie recorded and then went to the one studio they still use. There was an upcoming big new German band recording there and was funny watching all the girls getting so excited to see them. After the tour we went to Alexander Platz and to a German pub for some schnitzel, yum! Then it was back to the hostel for one drink before getting some much needed sleep. Wednesday it was up and out sightseeing again.

This time I was going to an art museum with the art and architecture crew and we saw an interesting exhibition of Andy Warhol's celebrity works. We also saw the Berlin's main station which is an amazing building built in High Tech style.

After getting something to eat there Sune and me headed back to the hostel for some rest before hitting happy hour at the hostel bar. We were soon joined by the others and it was a very big party night.

So Thursday I was not feeling too hot but had to be up and packed to check out at 10am. I had breakfast and then met up with the members of my group who wanted to come and we headed out to follow Bowie in Berlin. We first went to this beautiful big store called KaDaWe where he used to go but the boys were more interested in their stomachs so we didn't stay there long. Then we headed to where he used to live and had a pot of tea in the gay cafe/bar under his old apartment. We walked around the neighbourhood and to the Goya theatre which used to called the Metropol where he performed some shows. Then it was back to the hostel to meet the others and leave for the airport =( It is a very bad airport, once you check in you have to go straight through to the gate where there are no shops or anything just a room with cold, hard chairs and floor. Once back in Copenhagen it was a short trip on the metro and then 2 buses home but it was around midnight by the time I was back.

Friday it was glorious to sleep in and I had a nice relaxing day until it was time to get on my bike and head into town for Caroline's birthday party at Nadsat. It was great to catch up with everyone but the bar got way too smokey so I moved on to Karriere bar to meet with work friends. This bar was way to crowded though and too many guys in suits.

Saturday it was a nice day so I jumped on my bike and biked out to the mall. It was nice to wander around the shops and then I came home to get ready to go to Stefan's place for yummy Vietnamese soup, lots of red wine and great company. His place wasn't so far from Phong's so I went to his place afterwards. I was feeling the effects of way too much wine though and decided after a few attempts that it was definitely not a good idea to bike home. So it was a long walk home and sleep in today. So tonight I am enjoying having a quiet night and tomorrow it's back to action at school and work.

blog from tue 22nd oct

Being so busy and then a lack of internet I’m a bit behind with my blogging this week. I had a quiet start to the week before catching up with Pirita and Sarah on Thursday night over some delish cocktails at The Office bar. Pirita had spent 2 weeks in North America and Canada and made me very envious with stories of all the cheap shopping.

Friday it was a special Friday bar as the next time I would see a lot of my school friends would be in Berlin so it was a very merry atmosphere. A bit too merry I would say as I went home, made myself something to eat & had a shower to get ready to go to Kathrine’s birthday drinks and then proceeded to fall asleep =(

Gotta love your friday bar!

Crazy Danes..

Saturday I went to go meet Sash who had come over from London for the weekend with a friend. I took them to Christiania but as it was raining it wasn’t a very good day to be there. What else is there to do on a rainy day in Copenhagen then than to go to the pub.. It was great to catch up with her and then when they went to have some dinner I met Kathrine at her work and had some birthday drinks with her. I didn’t get home to late though as Sunday I needed to pack for Berlin!

Sasha and me.

As usual I left everything to the last minute and quickly packed before getting on the bus to the Metro and then taking that to the airport. I checked in and met with Erik, Sune, Kristen and Lukas after the security check. There is no tax free when travelling inside the EU so couldn’t do any cheap shopping. I got a beer and next thing it was time to get on the plane. It was a really short trip. Seemed to have only just taken off then it is time to land again. We had met a few more from school at the plane and after we had our luggage took a bus that took as to the train that we needed to get to our hostel. The hostel is right next to the station so very easy. We checked in and dropped our bags then headed to an Italian place next door for some pizza. Then we had to wait for Borgar and Steve’s plane to arrive to check them in. Then it was time to hit the bar!! It is a very lively hostel we are in especially after the arrival of so many Danes! Phi, Phong, Alex, Nick and Dean turned up after being out with Paula and it was a fun night. I went to bed not long after the bar closed around 2am.

Waiting for the guys on the later flight.

German beer is goood! Steve & Phi having a laugh.

Monday morning it was up and on the bus at 9am for a Berlin highlights tour. It was nice being driven around and checking out some great spots in East and West Berlin. We had a short stop at the Olympic Stadium and then carried on to a very touristy spot with many great sights. Then we spit up and I was with a group whom went to visit a WW2 bunker. The guy who gave us the tour was very interesting and showed us around the bunker talking a lot. Then after some lunch we made our way to the Jewish Museum. I had been really looking forward to it but it did not live up to my expectations. It was late by the time we got back to the hostel and we just had time to get freshened up before a bunch of us went out for dinner. Had a nice meal & some yummy cocktails then it was back to the hostel to catch up with everyone and drink lots more yummy German beer =)

So it was after 2am again this morning when I went to bed. I have got heyfever pretty bad and decided to have a little sleep in this morning. Was going to meet the group doing the Berlin Wall tour at 12pm but then realised I didn’t know how to get there and was feeling pretty crappy. Lets hope the antihistamine pills do the trick, right I’m off to find the guys..
