Okay so last week was just a little crazy. I better start where I left off last time..
Tuesday night I was lucky enough to be invited to a yummy meal cooked for me by an interesting person. So it was great food, yum wine and nice company. I definitely felt the 3 bottles of wine the next day though when I had to be at work at 8am. Then there is no rest for the wicked when I was on my bike to the city for a hot date ;-) It was really great company and nice drinks after at a cute little bar with these old Danish guys playing jazz, very hugge! But thanks to my dates devious plan to get me drunk, it was a very slow start on Thursday.
Then Friday happened, as it always does, but this was going to be a very different Friday..
We got the notice that we would definitely have the meeting by Monday about who was going to be one of the approx 350 people that were going to be made redundant. Of course they would not be so mean as to make us wait the weekend so I was waiting for the call on Friday to let me know what time the meeting was. It happened at 2pm and I had to delay the Friday bar at school to bike to work. It was all so weird and horrible waiting for our envelopes to tell us if we were going or staying. I guess we were not so badly hit being back office and operations, I mean the work still has to be done doesn't it but it was awful saying goodbye to the ones that had to leave and then the fallout afterwards has been terrible. I keep finding out more and more great people and good work friends are not there anymore. It's just so sad for the people still there for whom, like me, have totally lost the happiness and pride they had felt working for this company and the respect of the management there.
Anyway life must go on and there was a Friday bar to get back to. No way I was going to the Saxo Friday bar! So it was back on my bike across town to school and hang out with the cool multimedia kids. There was a lot of fun had there and then Nick, Paula & I headed in to celebrate Christiania's 37th birthday. WooHoo!! Happy Birthday Christiania! It was so great, like a mini festival with bands playing at Woodstock, Månefiskeren and Nemoland and Djs spinning their techno tracks at random locations. I have never seen so many people in Christiania or queued so long for a burger there, but it was so worth it! There was also a very nice Friday session going on at Wonderland. It is so much nicer now it's is having it's makeover and is much cleaner than before. They have a stereo there now and had even made a bar with free beers, cheers dudes!
Saturday then I was due a quiet night but first had a great couple of hours out with Alex and Nick hunting out street art. We found an abandoned office building that had been totally graffitied inside. I am not so good at taking photos and camera no way near as nice as the guys but I managed to get some nice shots, you can check out some of the guys shots here. Sunday woke up feeling nice and refreshed for a walk and catch up with Kirsten, they were not feeling so fresh so Kirsten picked up some McD's burgers for her man, how nice =) Then it was home for housework & baking hehe before heading back out to Christiania for a more mellow Sunday session and hang out with Nat and the cute bunny..

Well now I better go to sleep, although it is tempting to read more about how they crazy kids went who bought back Georgie Pie for the day on Sunday in NZ. Oh that would be sooo good if Georgie Pie came back. I would be a regular visitor for sure when I back =) till next time..
So another week has gone by so fast. It didn't start off the greatest, I blame it on men and hormones, so on Wednesday night I went to Christiania to meet with Nat and help celebrate Caroline's birthday and let off some steam. That worked really well and I felt much better the rest of the week. We finished off our report and had it hadn't in on Thursday so that was a relief and weight from the shoulders.
Friday I was looking forward to Friday bar at school and relaxing with some school friends but the staff had another idea and decided to use our chill out room for someones birthday. A couple of us went to the bodega round the corner and had a few anyways. So the plan was since we started so early that I would get home in time to make some dinner. Uh wrong! I can't blame it on friday bars anymore, I now just blame it on fridays (hmmm a lot of blaming gone on you might say but really I know that it is all up to me!).
We then went to Phong's for a few more beers and sharing our favourite and some funny songs on myspace and You Tube. Then it was off to Norreport Station to meet with all the crazy cats for the Metro Party. These guys said they had been doing them for 5 years in Paris and now was bringing it to Copenhagen. We all met outside the station and then went down the elevators, I was quiet late as my ticket wouldn't clip and it was a sight coming down the elevator and seeing all the people filling the station. I wish I had my camera but as I never went home from school didn't have a chance to get it. We then all jumped on the same train and headed out towards Vestamager. The organisers were broadcasting the music over a radio frequency and had asked people to bring along radios. It was so much fun partying in the train and hillareous seeing the looks on peoples faces when we arrived at stations =) When we got the end of the line we ran out from the train and over to the one going back again. I then stayed on all the way to the other side and when it came back a lot of people got off in Christianhavn so I went back to Norreport and met back up with Phong for more Friday chaos.
Needless to say Saturday was quite quiet but I actually had a party to go to and I had promised the hostess I would stay fresh so I had to get my act together and go out again. It was a nice party with lots of Saxo people and waaay too much vodka. I left and went to Kirsten and Anders at some stage to help celebrate Anders birthday but unfortunately didn't do much more than falling asleep on their couch.
Sunday I was not feeling too hot. I proved to myself it is not a good idea to go out 2 nights in a row but I guess sometimes it has to be done. Lets hope this week is a little more sedate but knowing this city I'm sure it won't be ;-)
It seems very hard to write about a week that I can hardly remember as it went by so fast..
Guess I don't have to write so much anyways as I already talked about the Company Run on Wednesday when I came home after I had had a few wines. It was a really nice night, actually it's probably about time I went running again. Haha!!
I guess then the only other exciting thing I did all week was hit the Friday bar at work with a vengeance again. Well I suppose I did earn it after 4 days at school and 5 days at work. We didn't have a school Friday bar last week as the 1st semesters were off on their boozy 1st semester trip. So I went to work to help out for a bit (lots of people off sick!) then went to have 1 or 2 drinks with Pirita at the bar. At first it was quite dull with everyone sitting in groups in the large canteen, but after a few drinks and only the regulars left it was definitely more fun. We were actually just about to go home before being joined by some of our funnest party friends so of course we just continued the party through Copenhagen. Stopping off at The Office Bar for a cocktail before being convinced by Pirita that we did actually want to go to Da Vincis. Surprisingly there were very few saxo people there so then it was off again to Luux. Not the greatest bars in Copenhagen to go but fun people and a very fun time.
Saturday then I was feeling a bit fragile and had a quiet day. I met with Lena to go to Christiania in the afternoon and then it was lazy movie night. I was feeling very tempted with a night out with Kirsten and Anders but my liver was telling me to stay home.
I want to write a bit about my school but I think that deserves it's own post..
Laters.
well.. i didn't actually like the running part but i liked the feeling afterwards knowing i had done it and my butt was saying thank u for making me feel tighter!! =)
actually it's almost worth the horrible feeling when you are running for the nice feeling in your butt afterwards.
i wish i had some photos of the event but obviously i was too busy running. tonight i took part in the annual dhl company run in copenhagen along with my work colleagues. there were around 20,000 people running in the relay type run. we drew numbers in my team of five as no one wanted to run 5th and i got 3rd so was pretty good place. i did walk a bit of it but finished in 30 minutes and got back just in time to get a beer before the kegs ran out. as i understand this event runs everyday this week so 20,000 people each day over 5 days is a lot of people running 5 kms!!
it was great fun to see everyone and have bbq and drinks and all so close to my apartment. after all the runners had finished copenhagen supplied a spectacular lightning show but only rained a few minutes so i didn't get wet biking home. hopefully someone took some pics so i can post here later.
