Sad, sad Saxo

Okay so last week was just a little crazy. I better start where I left off last time..
Tuesday night I was lucky enough to be invited to a yummy meal cooked for me by an intere
sting person. So it was great food, yum wine and nice company. I definitely felt the 3 bottles of wine the next day though when I had to be at work at 8am. Then there is no rest for the wicked when I was on my bike to the city for a hot date ;-) It was really great company and nice drinks after at a cute little bar with these old Danish guys playing jazz, very hugge! But thanks to my dates devious plan to get me drunk, it was a very slow start on Thursday.

Then Friday happened, as it always does, but this was going to be
a very different Friday..
We got the notice that we would definitely have the meeting by Monday about who was going to be one of the approx 350 people that were going to be made redundant. Of course they would not be so mean as to make us wait the weekend so I was waiting for the call on Friday to let me know what time the meeting was. It happened at 2pm and I had to delay the Friday bar at school
to bike to work. It was all so weird and horrible waiting for our envelopes to tell us if we were going or staying. I guess we were not so badly hit being back office and operations, I mean the work still has to be done doesn't it but it was awful saying goodbye to the ones that had to leave and then the fallout afterwards has been terrible. I keep finding out more and more great people and good work friends are not there anymore. It's just so sad for the people still there for whom, like me, have totally lost the happiness and pride they had felt working for this company and the respect of the management there.

Anyway life must go on and there was a Friday bar to get back to. No way I was going to the Saxo Friday bar! So it was back on my bike across town to school and hang out with the cool multimedia kids. There was a lot of fun had there and then Nick, Paula & I headed in to celebrate Christiania's 37th birthday. WooHoo!! Happy Birthday Christiania! It was so great, like a mini festival with bands playing at Woodstock, Månefiskeren and Nemoland and Djs spinning their techno t
racks at random locations. I have never seen so many people in Christiania or queued so long for a burger there, but it was so worth it! There was also a very nice Friday session going on at Wonderland. It is so much nicer now it's is having it's makeover and is much cleaner than before. They have a stereo there now and had even made a bar with free beers, cheers dudes!

Saturday then I was due a quiet night but first had a great couple of hours out with Alex and Nick hunting out street art. We found an abandoned office building that had been totally graffitied inside. I am not so good at taking photos and camera no way near as nice as the guys but I managed to get some nice shots, you can check out some of the guys shots here. Sunday woke up feeling nice and refreshed for a walk and catch up with Kirsten, they were not feeling so fresh so Kirste
n picked up some McD's burgers for her man, how nice =) Then it was home for housework & baking hehe before heading back out to Christiania for a more mellow Sunday session and hang out with Nat and the cute bunny..

Well now I better go to sleep, although it is tempting to read more about how they crazy kids went who bought back Georgie Pie for the day on Sunday in NZ. Oh that would be sooo good if Georgie Pie came back. I would be a regular visitor for sure when I back =)
till next time..
