winter wonderland

aaargh forgot to blog.. well actually was too busy working on exam presentation last night because i didn't do any work in the weekend!

I have definitely got right back into the Copenhagen party way of life. Monday, Tuesday I did not do much as usual, gotta have some quiet days!! Tuesday I decided I needed to get over it and have to forget about him. It's hard to keep respect for someone who you think did something very stupid anyways. It's his loss, time to move on.

Wednesday I went to Kathrine's and caught up with her for the first time in months! It was great fun having some wines and watching video clips of Steven Lynch on youtube. Here is one of his clips below..

Thursday we were introduced to our new workshop at school. We are learning 3dmax drawing and animation and we are to come up with the concept for a computer game. Then we will need to make some screenshots of the game and make a pitch as if we are selling it. It is fun and not much like work =) After work we had a team dinner to farewell Soo. It was all woman till Isrin turned up. Michael along with half the rest of the male population of Copenhagen was at the soccer. Not much a party bunch and I was home by 9pm.

Then Friday happened, weeeeeeee! It was a special Friday bar, being the first one of the year (Tuesday bars and Friday parties don't count). So there were a lot of people celebrating. At some point Phong and I left to go visit some of his friends and it was a very fun night.

Saturday was feeling just a little hungover but still ready for more party. So I jumped on my bike to head over to Phong's. I didn't realise how hard it was snowing until after I left and probably should not have biked. Well I biked very slowly and make it with out slipping over. It was snowing very hard but by the time we left to head to the party it was more like raining. We went to Nick's kollegium with a few others for the pimps and hoes party. Caught up with Dean and some others from school there and had fun dancing to the 80's tracks Nick was spinning. The party got stopped early (4am is early for cph standards) due to a flood so we went to a nearby bar but I was very tired and soon headed home.

Sunday I did not do much at all. I should have done some work but is hard to be motivated when so hung over. Then Monday morning I had to walk to school and then walk to Phong's to get my bike back! I worked on my exam presentation but still have a lot to do and there will be no time tonight as I'm going to see Dragonforce play =)

getting lighter..

Things were looking pretty dark at the beginning of the week but soon lightened up. I guess I remembered what life was like before, it was good. It still is good, I have a lot to be very thankful for. Yes I miss him like crazy but I realised that even though I want to be with him, I don't need him. I also realised for once that it is good to talk things over with your friends. So many times I have felt too embarrassed and ended up getting through things myself but it's tough and takes a long time. It helps to have people around to take your mind of things and I am very lucky to have a lot of great friends here.

Thankfully I was able to focus my brain for a few hours on Wednesday night to write an essay for school. I was very happy to see that I could still do it and I got a good comment for it. It has been interesting lectures and is good to be able to use the theory learnt.

It is also good to have things to look forward to and I was looking forward to a fun weekend. It started on Thursday night with meeting a few friends at the Southern Cross for quiz night. It soon became very apparent we wouldn't win so we concentrated on losing to get the losers shots. Turns out this wasn't actually a smart idea when we were downing shots of green chartreuse. A few too many beers later and I wasn't feeling too hot on friday morning.

But I dragged my sorry butt out of bed and went to school only to have a very boring lesson on making a wordpress blog. It was worth it to catch up with the guys though and get invited to Phong's for pre party drinks later that day. I went home and relaxed in front of the screen and watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It was an interesting movie and I thoroughly enjoyed watching Brad Pitt get hotter and hotter as the movie went on. Then it was getting ready and off to Phong's. It was really great to catch up with and hang out with him and the others. We then headed to the intro party at school and had a great time there. There was an interesting band playing with three lesbian girls. It was amazing how much attention they got from the guys and girls in the crowd! Below are some pictures that Lucas took at the party.

party ooooon!

So Saturday was very quiet. I headed over to Pirita's for dinner and to catch up with her and Sarah. It soon was obvious that they wanted to go out though so we got Maart to come over and headed to Stengade 30. This is a fun bar with some very interesting characters. Was great people watching and listening to some great 80's tunes and then as Dustin had turned up I had someone to bike home with.

So Sunday was also very quiet. I was hoping to catch up with Nat in Christiania but she had come down with a cold so it was a cosy night in instead. This morning I woke up to a blanket of snow in Copenhagen. This was fine for biking to school but not so good when it started snowing a lot and I had to bike to work in it. Must remember to invest in some waterproof mascara as it is not cool to have black streaming down your face! It is very cold temperatures this week but has been nice and dry and is staying light much later in the days. Is a nice reminder that spring is not too far away.

dark days

Once again I am wondering why I have such bad luck. The weekend was supposed to be such a happy time spent with someone I have missed so much for a long time and instead of the happy reunion I was heartbroken. I let myself hope and now feel a great loss.

So the week started out with a lot of anticipation and trying to be patient. I didn't do much else than go to school and work. Thankfully I got back into work again and it got better than being back the first day. Luckily on Saturday it was Julie's birthday and she had organised a party at a bar in town. It was just what I needed, I was happily surprised that there were a lot of my friends there and the free beer was much appreciated. When I left it was snowing a lot of mushy snow so got a taxi to carry me and my bike home.

Sunday I went to Kirsten's birthday and what I thought was going to be some cakes and coffee turned out to be a fun party with far too many drinks and guitar hero. So I'm not really up to writing much this week. I'll leave it with some pics of winter copenhagen..morning snow in my garden, it didn't last long.

misty day in faelleparkin.

back to cph..

Well I suppose the blog is gonna get boring now with not so many pretty pics.

On my last day in Auckland I got all packed up and managed to squeeze in almost everything into my bags. Then it was off to Dad's with James. We managed to get him away from work and drove to the viaduct. It was a cloudy windy day but was nice to look around at all the yachts and have a beer at Danny Doolin's. The seafood market was also much worth a look, yum! Then we headed to Takapuna and to the Belgium Beer Cafe for an early dinner. I got to run down to T bar to say a quick goodbye to Amy and all too soon it was time to pick up Mum and head to the airport.

Bye Amy =(

It was looking very good when I boarded the plane and it was very empty. I had 3 seats to myself and was able to stretch out and slept most of the way. But then after they had served us breakfast and about an hour from LA we hit bad turbulence and half the plane did not manage to keep their breakfast down. It was the first time I remember feeling sick on a plane but concentrated and was soon safely landed at LA. It was the normal procedure of going through customs, fingerprinted and photo taken.. again. (What is with these crazy Americans? Bit over the top I think). And then to the transit lounge to wait a little before getting back on the plane. We got the turbulence again leaving LA but apart from having to wait a looong time at Heathrow airport was otherwise uneventful flight back.

I was very tired when we landed in CPH at 5pm. Nat was waiting to give me my key then it was onto the metro before taking a taxi home. The taxi driver was very impressed that I could carry so much stuff =) Since arriving back I have not done much. Unpacked, set up new furniture and slept a lot. Had a nice night out on Friday meeting some school friends for some drinks at Moose before it was back to school today.

We got given our first workshop and semester briefing and it looks like it will be good (mind you that's what we thought on second semester!). Everyone is very much looking forward to having new teachers though. It will make a world of difference. After school it was of to work and I guess it was as unpleasant as you can expect after not working for 6 weeks. Was very nice to see everyone though.

The weather here is very bad. I'm wondering weather I should bite my tongue though as I suspect it could be a lot worse. It is very cold and windy as hell which makes biking very hard. I guess I should be happy it is not raining or snowing as well. So although I was feeling happy to be back this feeling is fast being swept away by the bitter Copenhagen wind. Blah..
