It was pretty crazy today, I biked to work in the sun (allbeit a very cold, windy sun), stopped by at the spa for a while and lay blissfully in the hot pool and sauna, then came outside again to sun but wait, what is that on the ground.. snow?? Apparently while I was inside for not even 1 1/2 hours a small snow storm had passed by. This is spring in Copenhagen!
Last week was another very busy week. It started Wednesday when I wondered off on my bike to Paula's place after work to help her celebrate her 26th birthday. She had made some gratin dauphinois and salat (which is actually a potato dish not grated dolphins) and we had some drinks at her cosy kollegium before heading to Saxon bar in the very dodgy part of Norrebro. It was a fun night with far too many beers and back to Phong's for shots of fishermans and next thing you know I am getting home at 4am!! Not being used to this midweek madness I slept through my alarm only to be woken by the landlady as the electrician was here to do some work. They gave me an hour to wake up and get out so I actually made it to school not too much past start time. Not that I was any use for anyone. Lucky Travis was there and I could watch him until it was safe to go back home and crawl back to bed for a few hours.
Playing around at Saxon'sI tried to get out of quiz night on Thursday but Mark was not having it. I believe his words were "a hang over is no excuse!" As it turns out quiz night at the cross is every second Thursday, I have been very lucky on the other occasions to turn up on the right week. But there was a quiz at the Globe so I met Mark and Charles there and had a pleasant evening catching up with them over one beer hehe. Turns out they are pretty good at quizzes and our team didn't suck as usual =)
Friday I awoke with a very painfull stomach. I tried to get ready for school but felt very ill and was a little worried when I heard that there was a stomach bug going around that some people had died from :-O!! I went back to sleep and then dragged myself out of bed as I did not want to miss St Patrick's day celebrations at my school. I tried to visit the doctor on the way but her being her useless self wouldn't even answer the door. I was hoping that guinness was going to be the magic cure but had to go home after just 1 and 1/2. Then feel sorry for myself the next day when I saw all the photos of the night and what a fun party it looked like. Anyway instead i tucked up in bed and watched the movie Superbad which turned out to be just a little bad.
Feeling pretty sick but not looking as green as Sune!
Happy St Patrick's Day!!Saturday I was feeling a bit better and I didn't stary far from home until it was time to meet at Hard Rock before going to the Volbeat concert at Forum. I decided I would drink white russians as so far milk had seemed good for my stomach and they are very tasty. It was me, Michael, Isrin, Morten and Maart who walked to Forum and met with Karina to see the concert. There were a lot of people there and it took a long time to get drinks, good timing though as just as we had them Volbeat started. They were a very nice band to see live. The crowd was very quiet for so many and towards the end me and Morten got right up the front very easy for a final mosh (well I was one of the only ones moshing). We then headed to Valhalla bar which was very empty but played some nice 80's rock before meeting with Nick and Dean and going to the Moose. As per usual Moose style it was a fun night that ended up with Maart & I sharing a taxi while the sun was coming up.
Volbeat live at Forum.
So as per usual I have had a very quiet Sunday, Monday Tuesday. Recharging the batteries for the busy part of the week. I have had a lot of trouble with my internet connection which has been fustrating but for some reason when Marc came to look at it tonight it just started working (now I think he thinks I made it up!). Today I squeezed a visit to the spa inbetween school and work and it was very nice to relax in the hot pool. I was offered frozen grapes in the sauna which was a very tasty experience. It was just a shame I had to rush to work afterwards.
My new favorite place in Copenhagen.
Freshening up with tea & frozen grapes before having to go to work.Well lets see what pics I can find from last week..
