a week of remembering

I had another lovely quiet start to the week. Just going to school and work and then relaxing at home. Wednesday night I met with a teacher from my school Barbara at a little theatre down the road from my place and we saw a play called Table Manners written by Alan Ayckbourne. It was really entertaining and fun. You can read about it in an article in the Danish news in English, the Copenhagen Post here.

Thursday was Mum's birthday and I couldn't help remembering the same time last year when we went to see the ballet Onigen. It was lovely to catch her for a quick happy birthday over the phone before heading to school. After work I rushed to the Southern Cross for quiz night. It was only me and Kay meeting but luckily our funny drunk friend from last time was there and Josh made up the fourth for our quiz team. We were doing alright until the last round when Peter was too drunk to even talk. After the quiz Ana and then Dean, Nick and David turned up for some drinks.

Friday was filming day at school. We set everything up in the basement of the school and had a fun day mucking around and filming it all. Then we headed out to Friday bar in the sun. We set ourselves up in a very sunny shady spot and were soon cooking it was so hot. They moved the beer taps outside and there was a competition between some of the guys to see who could drink the longest from the Summersby cider tap. Borgar of course won. As the afternoon wore on and the sun moved over the sky everyone migrated into the last corner of the garden to see the sun. Then Sune and I went to get pizza and a last beer before heading home. It did not take me long to fall asleep after all the sun and beer.

Saturday morning I was up early to get ready for ANZAC day. I biked up the lovely sunny coast past Charlottenlund Fort to the Australian Ambassador's residence. She lives in a beautiful house with a lovely garden. The service was really nice with a few poems being read and the NZ and Australian anthems being played etc. Then it was time to drink yummy Australian wine, eat nibbles and mingle with the other people there. I had a really nice bike ride back into town afterwards with Dean and we stopped to take in the view at the beach and fort. The camp ground will be open soon and I also remembered when Dad was here last year and the great times spent at that lovely spot. It was a shame to go to the pub on such a lovely day but there were lots of ANZAC biscuits, lamingtons and chocolate crackles to eat. Not to mention the yummy Australian beer and Macs Gold!! A few people turned up during the day. Was lovely to see Nat briefly and Borgar but it was a long day and was happy to bike home around 11pm and jump in bed to watch a movie.

Way to be the Australian Ambassador in Copenhagen and live in such a sweet pad!

Aussie boys can't handle it.. at the Southern Cross Pub

Sunday it was nice to wake up earlyish and call home. Had a nice chat with Mum before cleaning and shopping and making salad for dinner. I headed over to Lucas' to work on the editing of our video. First we had a grill outside in the garden then we went to work and was happy when Steve turned up later with icecream. Probably because I had had early nights on Friday and Saturday I still felt like a little more socialising so headed over to Phong's afterwards to chat with him and Paula before heading home.

So today we had our video presentations and it was fun to see the finished products and hear the teachers comments. We made it fun with popcorn and coke and Sune and I had made awards for the teachers favourite and students pick. We then had a talk with the teachers about the workshop and it turned into a talk about the whole semester so far. I really enjoy working with these teachers and can see that they enjoy our class to, so it makes school more fun and friendly. We have no more school for the rest of the week now. Next Monday we will get our exam project and it's time to really start working hard!

Wednesday.. Ran out of time to post this yesterday so am posting now at work. Will find some pics to add when I get home. Laters =D
