work, work and more work.. oh and a little play

I'm writing my post now hoping it will get me in a report writing mood..

The weeks started out very quiet with me staying home every night since Friday. By Thursday my brain was feeling numb and my eyes getting blurry from the amount of time spent in front of computer screens. I was feeling very stressed and just blah. So it was good that Thursday night we were off to the racecourse after work with some people from the Operations department. We were given 50 kr each to bet on the horses and I got that whole thing over and done with with betting it all on the second race. Then I could concentrate on eating the yummy dinner and having a few drinks. It was nice to spend some social time with people from work as I don't do that so much lately.

Friday it was a long day at school. The teachers had gone on some party and took the key for the cash register in the school bar so the lovely Friday Bar boys got the beer going and gave it away for free =) Sarah came and we had a nice time catching up. Then later on Anca and I headed to Faelleparken for the carnival. We had a good look around the whole carnival and got some yummy caiparinas before finally settling at the electronic music area and having a little boogie. We found Phong and chatted to him and some others for a little while before Anca sensibly wanted to head home.

Saturday I was right back into the school work and got very fustrated trying to draw with 3ds max. I headed to school in the afternoon and joined the group who were upstairs in the lovely first semester room. We didn't get kicked out of school till 8:30pm which was great and then headed over to Lucas' place. It wasn't worth me getting unpacked there cause I soon woke Phong up from his nap and met him to head to Christian's birthday party. It was great to see all the guys, and when I say guys I mean guys! This was a nice party full of men ;-) But Karina turned up later which was cool as I hadn't heard from her in a long time. It was supposed to not be a big night but I was biking home around 6:30am this morning!

Well now I better shut this computer off and get into writing. Tomorrow (Monday) is a holiday in Denmark so we are meeting at school in the morning to work all day, oh joy. Laters..

zombie attack in copenhagen!!

Whoops I almost forgot to blog, looks like it's gonna be another late night..

Last week started off quietly with thoughts of exam project and the 2 parties coming up later in the week. Then on Wednesday I hurried home after work to change and meet with Ana, Alex and Vytis to transform into 'the living dead'! I was thinking it was all going to be too much trouble and that I had too much work to do but I am sooooo happy Alex was enthusiastic and it was Vytis' birthday so what better way to celebrate =)

I have, for as long as I can remember anyway, always wanted to get dressed up as a zombie and drag my broken undead body around town with a group of fellow zombies. And it was just as much fun as I thought! I'm not sure who organised it but they did a fantastic job. We went to the meeting place and it did not take long to find the make-up guys and get zombiefied. We got split into 3 groups and as was last to leave we waited impatiently for our turn to roam the streets of Copenhagen. Soon it was our turn and we turned the corner and out into the center of the city. It was soo much fun seeing the look on peoples faces when a hoard of zombies started hobbling towards them. Even better was when cars tried to get through and we would slap our bloody hands on the windows and yell "braaaaainnns!"

After a very fun crawl we ended up at our first stop, the Australian bar. This is well known by my Danish friends as a place you go when you are a teenager to get drunk and try to score. So is not very recommended as a drinking place in Copenhagen (unless you are a teenager looking to score). But I loved it!! They had school bar prices, 10 kr beers and 5 kr shots, you can't beat that! They had decorated really well and were handing out vodka soaked gummy bats and they put on a show of a group of freaky girl zombies dancing the Michael Jackson Thriller dance =D

After there we went to another bar that was not as good but was great that Sune turned up and didn't take long for him to get zombiefied. Then we crawled to the last bar which was pretty bad. We didn't stay there long and had a fun time walking in and out of nearby cafes and bars scaring people. We headed back to Australia bar for the cheap drinks and then ended up at the Rock. By this time I was pretty tired and knew I had a school meeting in the morning so I said goodbye to my zombie pals and got on my bike home. Then I had the wonderful experience of passing people in the bike lanes and turning my face to growl at them hahahahaaa! Oh so much fun!

Anyway I'll let you look at some of the pics so you can see what I've been talking about..

Braaaaainns!

This couple were creepy!

There were interesting types of zombies..

Eeeew we look gross!

So then on Thursday morning I was up and on my bike to meet with my school group and exam coach at a tea shop. Lucky Sune was not very fresh to so I had some support. After a bit of talk and some yummy tea we walked up the road to the park for some lunch. Then it was very slow the rest of the day. Friday I was to work and then went home and had some dinner before heading to Phong's. It was a nice group meeting there before heading to the school for a Summer Party. We have very few Friday Bars and parties left before the end of semester so was a nice amount of people even though it is right in the middle of exam project time.

Summer girls! Partying with Kirsten.

And then on Saturday I did something I haven't done in a loong time, stayed home! Sunday I felt great and did study and shopping and cleaning and baking. I thought that Monday would be great but I learnt that Mondayitis happens even if you have a quiet weekend! So here I am past my bedtime supposed to be studying but once again looking at disgusting zombie pics. I hope I don't have scary dreams again!!

Hehe laters..

blogging is another form of procrastination?

Thinking it was going to be a quiet week last week I put a message out asking if anyone was keen to meet up midweek to celebrate The Moose bars birthday with a few beers on Wednesday night. Now of course I had completely forgotten about Creativity night on Tuesday. I thought I would just pop in and say hello but it ended up being a lot of fun and very creative! Brennan turned up with a bottle of absinthe and a few glasses of wine and some great tracks from the djs later.. I was not home till around 2am!

getting creative..

This was after spending the day walking around the community where my school is located, Bispejberg. We wanted to get a feel for the area and take some pics for our project.

photos from around Bispejberg

Then it was to work at 8am on Wednesday. I was very tired and got a few hours sleep after work before heading out again on my bike to The Moose. This was a quiet few beers with the boys luckily. Thursday then I had a quiet night and did some school work.

Friday was a lovely day and was a very pleasant time sitting in the afternoon sun at the Friday Bar. Then Sune and I left to go to Christiania to see one of our classmates bands play. I bumped into Nat there and had a little catch up but the band took so long to come on that we couldn't wait any longer and went home. It was a shame I would have loved to see them.

Saturday I went to Frederiksberg to meet with the group and look at a flea market. It was a grey dribbly day and the stalls were all just peoples second hand things so not good to film. We went to the mall to find somewhere to eat but being Denmark you couldn't even find anything to eat in a mall!! There were 2 cafes that were packed and expensive (oh I miss foodcourts with Chinese fried noodles!). We ended up finding a little Mexican place and then had Ben & Jerrys ice-cream before heading home.

I was seriously considering staying home Saturday night to do some school work but there was a skate party on near Nick's place so I jumped on my bike to his stopping to buy some beers on the way. Paula and Dean were there and we had a pleasant time chatting before heading to Flisen. Now this bar is cool! A bit too hot and smokey but you don't notice so much after you've been in there awhile. The music is cool and the people in their very interesting.

Sunday after talking to Mum and James for around 2 hours I did laundry and house cleaning and was just about to get into school work when Alex called and told me the concert in Christiania was starting at 7pm! So I was on my bike again and met him and Nick at a yummy cafe in Christenshavn Cafe Luna. After dinner we went to Nemoland and bumped into Nat and Dan straight away. Not long after Paula and Anca walked in and the concert started. We got right up the front and boogied away to the old school hip hop vibe of the Danish band No One Beats the Beats. It was over quite early so we had a beer and then I biked most the way home with Paula. No One Beats the Beats at Christiania

Well I wrote this on Tuesday and it is now Thursday so I better hurry and and post it!

is it even possible to have more fun?

Wednesday night was movie night and I had been really wanting to see The Boat That Rocked. It was pretty good. Funny and with an awesome soundtrack. Afterwards we headed to Bar 7 to check it out and have a few drinks and then to a more casual Floss where someone thought it would be a good idea to have tequila shots :-P

So Thursday morning I was feeling a little jaded and even more tired from not catching up on much sleep from the week before. But there is no rest for the wicked and it was school, followed by a beer at the Thursday bar, then work and a few at the work Thursday bar.. phew. I was happy to get home. Then no matter how tempting hitting the bars with my mates was it was to bed for me as I had to work on the holiday.

It was pretty quiet Friday at work though and seeing as I didn't have to be there till 10am I was feeling pretty refreshed after a good sleep. Still not up for partying though so just headed over to Henrik's to meet with Phong and Michael and hang. I ended up having to stay there a little later than I would of liked though due to a big, windy rain storm. But was happy it stopped so I could bike home.

Nice view from Henrik's place

Saturday I met with Kay in the centre of the city where they had set up a tent with a Czech rock bank and free beer. It was a very pleasant few hours tasting the Czech and Danish beers before heading to The Irish Rover for some nourishment. Then I jumped on my bike and headed to Nick's pad to crash their 4th semester party. It turned out to be a facepainting party and was a lot of fun. So much fun that I didn't make the concert I wanted to go to and stayed there all night. It is hard to leave though with such great mates and Nick spinning such fine tunes.

So Sunday I was very jaded and same old story very tired today. I almost forgot to write blog while procrastinating over my study. Better hit the sack, will upload pics later, cyas.

beerathon..

Lets see if I can remember!

Tuesday we had our video presentations at school and it was a fun day watching everyones attempt at making a video in 2 weeks. Then that night I went to meet Kay and we ended up sitting in Nyhavn having a few beers with some guys playing lovely jazz music next to the cannal.. hygge!!

There was no more school for the week due to a teachers meeting so Thursday I had a relaxing day before only having to go to work for 3 hours. Afterwards it was a lovely day and I went to the park to meet Tobias and chat (!!!). Then I was feeling restless so biked over to Phong's and had some beers with him, Paula and Dean.

Then Friday was 1st May!! I biked to Faelleparken and attempted to find Phong and the others.. it took me an hour! There were so many people there. I'm not exaggerating either, over 100,000 people! He didn't know where i was and he was trying to give me directions and I think I walked around the whole park before finally finding them. It was lucky I found Phong when I did because just afterwards the phone's got clogged and was unable to call or text anyone in the park. 1st May in Denmark is a day off for workers, not in finance but as I don't work Friday's anyway it turned out really well =) Anyways a hell of a lot of people go to Faelleparken to listen to music and speeches and just hang out and drink a lot of beer with friends. We stayed there until it started getting a bit chilly before heading to Christain's apartment to keep the party going.

Was having too much fun to take photos but got one of late afternoon at the park just before we left.

Saturday was a slow start but it was a beautiful day and I was soon itching to go out again. I biked over to Blågårdsgade in Norrebro for their Love Fest. I was a bit worried about this street party as some recent gang shootings had been very nearby but I met Ana and we had a few quiet drinks at Valhalla and soaked in the atmoshpere before heading over to Karina's for some drinks with her and her sister. Phong and Christian soon turned up and it was a merry little party before we headed to the Rock for their Pirate party. Now this was a lot of fun!! There were many people dressed up fantastically as pirates and bands playing very merry pirate music.
Table set for many at the Blågårdsgade street party.

This guy was a bit overdressed =)

Dean made a very fine pirate =)

Sunday then was a quiet ralaxing day and I've been feeling very tired ever since. Monday it was to school and straight into the exam project. We are to make a website/blog for a local community to help promote communication and locals participation in the development of their community. We have a month to have this completed before hand in on June 3rd and then 2 exams to prepare for in June.

So I'm off to bed now, sleep very much needed.. laters.
