now that's what you call a weekend!

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday it was back to work.. 8am - 4pm. People are starting to get used to me being around a bit more which is nice. Thursday after work I biked to Enghaveparken to meet with Sune and listen to some bands. It was a bit cloudy and cold but nice to give the eyes a break from screens. Vytis soon joined us and we had a few beers. I had a quick chat with Lars and Dennis and then it was home to bed as Friday was going to be a looong day.

I like Saxo breakfast =)

I had had a little bit of a cold last week but nothing to keep me in and straight after work I cycled up to Deer Park and to Baccen to meet with some class mates. It had looked like it was going to be a nice day in the morning and I was wearing summery clothes but it soon started pouring with rain and thunder and lightening. We finally made it into the shelter of a quaint bar next to a lake and had a much enjoyed mug of beer. I went on a few of the rides but then it soon became time I had to leave to get to Karina's. Ana and I went to catch a train and by this time I was cold and wet and tired.

This ride looks fun!

With pirate duck, Chen, Maetha and Ana.

By the time i got home my toes were numb and I didn't want to get out of the nice hot shower. But it was soon time to jump back on the bike and in no time at was at Karina's. I had lovely chats with her and Martin before Ana turned up and we all headed over to Phong's. When we got there there was about 8-9 guys playing poker and we had totally crashed a poker night. It was looking like Janus was going to win all but Phong pulled an amazing come back and won. Then it was time to party. We were having so much fun listening to music and chatting that it was around 5:30am when I made my way home and it was fun watching all the other night owls wandering around.

So Saturday I wasn't up long before it was time to get ready for the next party. This time I was off to work for a bbq party and it was a great way to shake off a hangover. After listening to a looong speech from one of the CEOs we were able to eat some bbq food and drink some yummy champagne. It was lovely outside along the canal they had set up tables and a band was playing. Then at 10pm the band stopped and the dj started inside. They had set up a cocktail bar which was nice but not doing the job so I went back to the champagne. I had been feeling pretty tired but I soon got in the party mood and although my feet hurting I danced all night until they shut the party down at 3am.

Some of my lovely colleagues.

Sunday I was thinking of going to Christiania for some concerts but knowing I have a whole week of hangoing out, partying and concerts next weekend at Roskilde I decided to stay home instead. And then all too soon it was Monday again. I went to work this morning and got my subject for the exam on Wednesday and am very happy to get organisation! So now it's study time but for some reason i can't stop thinking about ROSKILDE!!!!

old school, new school..

Last week started off pretty nondescript. We didn't meet at school on Tuesday so was pretty relaxing. Then Wednesday I was lucky enough to see one of my favorite 80's rock bands, Motley Crue!!!!!!

I jumped on my bike out west to KB Hallen and met with Morten. It was great before we even got inside the venue just looking at all the colourfull characters. Rockchicks and rockguys of all ages and types. But the most interesting are the ones that look like they belong in the 80's. The 80's look is definitely still around! There were two warm-up bands and we met up with Lucas and his girlfriend before the original line-up of Vince, Tommy, Nikki and Mick.

The show was amazing, the guitar, the extremely loud bass, the crazy drums and Vince's high pitched voice. It totally rocked. I don't really know what more to say, I was left grinning ear to ear and went to sleep smiling. I will show you what I mean in media.

Vince vioce sounded like he was on helium =)

The start..

I had to get closer..

The crowd loves Tommy!

Me with Mr Smiley, it's pretty obvious why we call him that.

Nikki Six has loads of charisma.

My camera couldn't handle the bass!

Thursday and Friday it was back to school to work on improving our project and preparing for the exam. It is a bit strange at school at the moment with not so many people there and the ones that are all nervous about exams. There were a few hanger oners Friday afternoon missing the friday bar so we got some beers and headed to Vytis'. We were soon joined by Phong and Nick and had a nice little random party. Saturday there were a few people fealing the after effects of Vytis vodka. I was thinking of going out but then settled for a relaxing evening instead.

Sunday I met with Sune and Ana and we went to go to a museum but it didn't open until 1pm so we sat in the park with milkshakes and enjoyed the sunshine. Then we headed to a very nice building on the edge of the park for the David Collection. I really liked the European 18th Century art collection, there is some very stunning furniture. After Sune and I got some lunch before heading to Lucas' to work. It was not a late night and then we were back to school on Monday. I had to go to work and then didn't go back to school afterwards, it was all getting a bit much all this group work.

There was a funny sign exhibit in the city =)

So we had to meet again early Tuesday to make our presentation. Luckily the video was finally finished and the website was much improved. We made a presentation and then it was time for our exam. It was nice we got to present as a group then we had 15 minutes each to go in and answer questions from the examiners. Then once we were all done we all went in together for our results. I was gobsmacked and extremely happy to get a 10! The Danish scale is weird it goes; -2, 0, 2, 4, 7, 10, 12, so 2nd to top is pretty damn good! We did work hard and have some very late nights but we also a very disfunctional team I thought. I am glad that the examiners obviously realise how hard it is for some people to work together.

We were so happy we had some beers afterwards in the garden and then put on a movie in one of the classrooms. If you want to save yourself a big waste of time.. do not watch Lesbain Vampire Killers, ugh stupid film! It had such potential from it's title ;-)

Well I'm working the rest of the week. Early mornings so better hit the sack. Also have a busy busy weekend coming up and another exam next week... phew! Laters.

time to get distorted!!

The beginning of the week was tough. I was going to school around 9am and not leaving till around 12am. Then on Tuesday I came home and stayed up till 3:30am finishing the report. The sun was coming up!! And then it was back to school at 8am to try to get everything finished. It was stressful putting the final touches to the report and making sure it was laid out properly and spell checked. This takes time when there are 53 pages. But we finally got it in and had a few quiet beers before heading home to relax.

Working with one, facebook with the other ;-)

So I slept a lot on Wednesday and Thursday got some cleaning and shopping etc (it had been a while!) done before heading to school for the hand-in bbq. It was nice to be cooked bbq and served food by the teachers. Some of the male teachers were in particularly good moods handing out compliments and free beers =) It was a lot of fun and hard to leave but Distortion was calling..! Distortion is a 5 day festival celebrating Copenhagen's nightlife. It started on Wednesday in the city and Thursday was Norrebro's day. So it wasn't far to walk and some others from school joined me stopping for mandatory kebab's and mcd's on the way. We went to the Blagardsgade block party first as that was where Anca was and it was fun seeing the sights and hearing the music along the street. We bought a bottle of rather gross bubbly at the champagne bar before settling at Valhalla for some drinks to get out of the cold (yes it is Copenhagen summer..) Borgar and Barbara left and then the four of us that were left headed to Sankt Hans Torv for the other block party. It looked like a lot of people were there but it soon started raining very heavily and I biked home in the hail (fun! not!).

Crazy fun guys at Norrebro Distortion block party.

Block parties are great for people watching!

Doing the limbo on the way home. Da da da da daa da daa..

Friday I was up and to work at 8am. It was another Danish holiday though so I got to go casual and wear sneakers and there were not many people in the office. Still it was quite busy with me being away for the rest of the week and I was kept busy all day. I went home to chill for a bit and cook dinner before heading back out on my bike to meet with Anca. This time Distortion was in Vesterbro and we met at Enghave Plads for the legendary Friday block party. We were soon joined my Mark and Dean and Co and became the beer drinking machines. This is easy when the kiosks are selling them for 5 kr a can! We were dancing up a storm at the Bitchslap magazine party and I was especially happy when the kiwi owner of the mag got everybody to sing happy birthday to his mum. I slipped away for awhile when I saw the flames and headed to the skate park to watch the burning ring of fire, always entertaining =) Then we went over to the main party and I bumped into a few friends from work Fode and Paulo. The music soon stopped, I guess because of the people whom live around there but then a pirate ship on wheels rolled up and a small party continued. We were a bit over it by then though so all jumped on our bikes and headed to Mark's to start the bicardi drinking already.

Friday night and ready for more party!!

Bitchslap Magazine throw a great party!

Always love the ring of fire!

Needless to say it was light again when I biked home and I was very tired so had a nice long sleep on Saturday. I got more laundry done and settled in for a quiet night with a movie when I had the idea of baking anzac biscuits for the aussie guys at 10pm. Sunday it was up and on the bike to Islands Brugge for the final chill out day of Distortion. The aussie boys were already into the mpjitos when I got there and it was not long before we were also joined by Nick, Paula and Anca. Charlie had to jump on a taxi back to London, it was sad to see him go as I only met him twice but he's a top bloke! We had ust got the grill going when the rain came so after standing under a tree for awhile we decided to see what was happening at the party. There were not many people there and the ones that were were all hanging out under the upside down boat. There were good tunes coming from the bas though so it was time to dance some more. We also found another truck with djs and bubbles but people were dropping like flies and I left the last couple to bike home.

Mojitos and picnic at Islands Brugge.

Charlie is a top guy =)

So today it was back to the real world and I went to school to meet with the rest of the group to discuss our exam before heading to work. Tonight I got a brief call from Andrew but very exciting as he said he would head over to Europe so he can join me in Amsterdam for our birthday in August, sweeet! I might have to try and get some more time off to head some other places with him as well.

Well this blog has taken 2 days to make, hehe. I will end by adding some Distortion videos made by the Distortion crew showing more of the parties.. laters!
