★·.·´¯`·.·★ New Years ★·.·´¯`·.·★

It was so nice to have the Tuesday off and I unpacked, did laundry etc. Then Wednesday it was back to work. It was very quiet though and even more so on Thursday as I was the only one working in payouts. At 1pm we got champagne up on the fourth floor and then we finished up at 3pm. Then it was off home to get ready for New Years! I wore a new dress I had bought in England and some very high heels I had bought online and got sent to Derek and Sue’s. They made me very tall! When I was ready I walked down to catch the 18 bus all the way to Phong’s. I was surprised at how easy it was, it took like around 5 minutes. I love the public transport in Cph!! Phong and Peter were out but Karina was cooking in his kitchen and they had set his small apartment up very nice with a table and New Years decorations. Soon they came back and we were joined by Ana, Morten and Maart. We had a yummy pumpkin soup for starters with lots of cheese and then roast beef with scalloped potatoes and vegetables. I wasn’t really hungry for desert but Karina had prepared a chocolate mud cake with ice cream and exotic fruits. After dinner we had some drinks and partied a bit before walking to Kaare’s to join everyone at midnight. We popped the champagne and then went outside to watch people setting off fireworks and then partied the night away. I jumped in a taxi and got home around 5am very tired and happy.

Party table.

OMG Morten is smiling :P

Two of the chefs, Peter and Phong.

Nice hat??

Karina looking glam!

Sparklers =)

Friday was spent sleeping, recovering and relaxing. I watched the Time Traveler’s wife which was a beautiful movie and at the end I was balling with tears streaming down my face. Then Saturday night we were out again. I headed over to Phong’s as they still had the table set up and Michael cooked a yummy ‘burning love’ and we drank up Phong’s JDs. Then we headed to a nearby Bodega where Peter and Kenneth and some others were having some drinks. The beers were very cheap there, 16 kroner but it was very smoky. The smoking law is very strange in Denmark as it allows bars that are smaller than 45 feet to be able to smoke inside. This means that the small bars can be very bad and all your clothes and hair smells so bad when you get home. After here we went to Gitte’s as it was her birthday and I continued partying there until around 6am.

So Sunday again was all about relaxing and this time I watched the Lovely Bones. It had not got very good reviews but I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought that it was very well made. Monday I didn’t go to work as there was to be a day at school where 4th semesters showed their projects. When I got there though they were presenting in Danish so I went to find Barbara and we drank tea and gossiped for a while before I headed home. Tuesday I was back to work and after lunch I headed to the spa at the gym for a very pleasant time reading my book, drinking tea and soaking in the hot pool. I did this again Wednesday so by Thursday I was ready to tackle a gym class and went to pilates. It didn’t feel like we did very much and seemed like a very unstructured class but I was feeling it on Friday. Thursday night I met with Kathrine at the Southern Cross for some beers and it turned into a very fun night playing first poker, then dice games and then a very funny game of ‘I have never’ with the Danish girls, the Aussie barman, the owner and Mike the quiz night organizer.

It was lucky I was working afternoon Friday as I definitely needed the sleep and went to work at 12pm for lunch. It was nice working a Friday afternoon again as I got Friday cake and then when I finished at 4:30pm I joined the others at the Friday bar. I was feeling a little dodgy after the unexpected late Thursday night and thought I would have one or 2 beers before heading home but it was fun and I didn’t get home until 10:30pm. Then I jumped into bed with a big bowl of popcorn and watched the movie Chopper. It was an interesting movie that I was recommended to watch from Veronica as we talked at the bar about how hot Eric Bana is =)

Saturday it was time to party again.. again!! I headed out on the bus then train then Metro to Amar to go to Ana’s place. I met Morten at the station and Ana came to get us. It was bloody freezing out there! Amar is a newer part of Copenhagen and there is a lot of empty space, futuristic office buildings and apartments and large carparks. We were soon joined by Ionna, Phong, Karina and an American guy called Brendon and had a very fun night in Ana’s little Kollegium apartment.
