The start of June music madness month..

Just in time for festival season summer arrived in Copenhagen. Wednesday morning was beautiful and sunny and after breakfast Martin and I biked out to Amager Strand for the Copenhagen Live Festival. Once there we ordered jugs of beer and met with Morten, Maart and Bo. Luckily Bo had sunblock as the sun was relentless on my very pale skin. The first to play was Slash and his band and it was a great way to start the festival with some classic rock. They even played some Guns n Roses songs. Then was Skunk Anansie which were nice followed by a emoish Bullet for my Valentine. Then it was Volbeat and finally Rammstein!! It was a really great day and after Martin, his friend Daniel and I biked to a bodega for some more beers before heading home very happy.

Lucky Thursday I had a late shift and could sleep in. Friday was also a late shift and straight after I biked to Vesterbro to join in the Distortion Festival. It was in full swing when I got there and thousands of people were partying in the square and the streets. I managed to find Barbara and Jolene. They were busting to find a toilet so we found a bar and I got a refreshing bourbon cocktail before queuing in a kiosk to buy warm beers. We then wandered around a bit but most parties had finished. We ended up near the skate area and I happily bumped into some of my old friends there. B & J had been there awhile till then so they left and I met with Maart and Morten whom had also been partying a long time and were very merry. We walked to Carlsberg where there was a big dance party but left Maart there and went back to get my bike. A very unsteady Morten took a taxi home and I dodged all the drunken people on my bike on the way back home. It was quite disgusting how many really drunk people there were around actually.. almost enough to make you want to stop drinking :P

Saturday Martin woke me up early and we headed out to Vesterbro again where there was a hockey tournament going on. It was a very nice sunny day and I was very much enjoying watching all the men get ready to play ;-) We drank beers and listened to music then it was time to meet with Barbara and Jolene again to attend the Spring Dance at Carlsberg. It was a beautiful setting in a garden with daisies growing in the grass but the dance was very disappointing. There was pretty xylophone music first then the dance had very strange noises (music?) and was not very pretty. Also I was a little tiddly from the beers earlier and old ladies were telling me to shhh so I headed back to the hockey. When it was over we biked to a bridge where there was another Distortion party. It was lovely sitting in the sun next to the canal listening to the dj and watching all the interesting people. But I was quite tired at this stage and could not wait until 10pm to join the 2 minute rave so we went back home to watch movies.

Sunday after a relaxing morning I biked over the bridge to Islands Brugge to join the last Distortion chill out party. It was another lovely day and lots of people but unfortunately no Distortion bus with djs as in previous years. Maart and I chilled out in the sun drinking beers and people watching then walked to Christiania for the free Sunday concert. We got an amazingly good burger and potatoes with chili mayo in Nemoland and watched the rock band. Then it was a short pleasant bike ride home and a relaxing Sunday night.
